Half term

It is half term here, so the children have two whole weeks of holiday. Charlotte came home too, with a car full of laundry and a cat. I am been washing ever since. 

For the first time since I can remember, perhaps it is the first time, the four of them actually played a game till the end, and that without anyone throwing a fit or cheating,  they did however complain when I tried to take a photo, still got one though.

 When Alexis drew and shaded his picture above, his teacher didn't believe him at first that he did it (looks better in reality)  but he did.  He spent hours on it too.  Apparently , the other drawings  in the class were so bad, she assumed he had help (he finished it off at home, like all his classmates). He did do it and has proved it since. He got a 19 for this dog.  Alexis loves drawing portraits and now can drawing great noses which he is happy about.

When Gaby was in 6eme, she had a similar topic to do, but she only had the half of the picture to complete, she did it on her own too and got a 17.
Gaby's speciality is drawing mangas.

Advent Calendar for....

                                                           Advent calendar for your cat

We did our regular dash around our local supermarket Saturday and look what we found.  An advent calendar for CATS!  Yes, every day, your bundle of fur can open a advent window and discover a different savorous meal right up until Christmas.   

Somehow as weird as the concept is, I actually  think people are going to buy these calendars, and the person in charge of marketing at "Gourmet" really should be commended for this idea, I would never have thought about doing this, not ever.

Carnaval 2009

Today was the annual school carnaval in Marie-Kate's nursery school (maternelle) .
And spring has sprung, or maybe one could say that summer's on its way as you can see, a teenager on the way to the beach with his surf board and flip-flops.

Marie-Kate painted her own cat top and I added a kind of tail, at least she was the only cat in a school of over 270 ( 95% of the girls were princesses...).

Tails can be cumbersome, this one has a mind of its own.
